Adult mosquito treatment to suppress West Nile virus activity in part of Sunnyvale and Cupertino (94086, 94087, and 95014) on 08/25/22
Mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus have been detected in a small portion of Sunnyvale and Cupertino. When these infected mosquitoes bite humans, they can transmit the virus which can cause serious illness.
To reduce the threat to you and your family, the County of Santa Clara Vector Control District will be reducing the population of mosquitoes with a localized mosquito control treatment in parts of the 94086, 94087, and 95014 ZIP codes. The treatment will use truck-mounted equipment and is scheduled to begin Thursday, August 25 around 10PM and last approximately 4 hours.
