Mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus have been detected in a small area that includes parts of Mountain View, Los Altos Hills, and Sunnyvale. When these infected mosquitoes bite humans, they can transmit the virus which can cause serious illness.
To reduce the threat to you and your family, the County of Santa Clara Vector Control District will be reducing the population of mosquitoes with a localized mosquito control treatment in parts of the 94040, 94024, and 94087 ZIP codes. The treatment will use truck-mounted equipment and is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 22 around 10PM and last approximately 4 hours.
