Adult mosquito control treatment to suppress West Nile virus activity in portions of Sunnyvale and Santa Clara (94085, 94086, 94087, and 95051) on 7/19/22

Mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus have been detected in a small portion of the county. When these infected mosquitoes bite humans, they can transmit the virus which can cause serious illness.

To reduce the threat to you and your family, the County of Santa Clara Vector Control District will be reducing the population of mosquitoes with a localized mosquito control treatment in part of the 94085, 94086, 94087, and 95051 ZIP codes. The treatment will use truck-mounted equipment and is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 19 around 11PM and last approximately 4 hours.
