Adult mosquito treatment to suppress West Nile virus activity in parts of Palo Alto and Stanford (94301, 94304, 94305, and 94306) on 7/27/23

Mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus have been detected in a small area that includes parts of Palo Alto and Stanford. When these infected mosquitoes bite humans, they can transmit the virus which can cause serious illness.

To reduce the threat to you and your family, the County of Santa Clara Vector Control District will be reducing the population of mosquitoes with a localized mosquito control treatment in parts of the 94301, 94304, 94305, and 94306 ZIP codes. The treatment will use truck-mounted equipment and is scheduled to begin Thursday, July 27 around 10PM and last approximately 4 hours.
