We are hiring for a Program Manager I.

The Program Manager I within the Vector Control District is responsible for overseeing and managing specific vector control programs and personnel with the goal of prevention and control of vector-borne diseases and vectors, including vector control operations, disease surveillance, and public education. This position will also be responsible for traveling to different work locations within the County of Santa Clara.

In addition to meeting the employment standards for this the role, applicants will also need to possess the following competencies:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate district specific programs in vector control operations, disease surveillance, and/or public education.
  • Ability to obtain the following certifications from the California Department of Public Health Vector Control Certifications within the first year of employment:
    • Pesticide Application and Safety Training for Applicator of Public Health Pesticides
    • Biology and Control of Mosquitoes in California
    • Arthropods of Public Health Significance in California
    • Vertebrates of Public Health Significance in California

**Please note that all certifications must be maintained for the duration of employment with the County of Santa Clara Vector Control District.
